Addie Navarro - director, producer

Addie Navarro is first and foremost a passionate protector of rivers. Her love for rivers was born of two years of whitewater raft guiding in Colorado. Addie received her B.A. in History and Documentary Film from Duke University in 2015 and since then, her insatiable curiosity for adventure and new cultures has led her around the world in search of great stories to tell. Her mission is to bring awareness and communicate solutions to environmental issues through the art of film.

Carly Harmon - producer, cinematographer

Carly Harmon graduated with honors from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2013 with an Anthropology degree, a focus on Archeology, and a minor in Museum Studies. After graduating, she biked across the country from Baltimore to Seattle with a nonprofit organization called 4k for Cancer, before then settling in Missoula, Montana, where she spent a year as a traveling natural scientist and a white water raft guide. Carly's love for cultural anthropology, traveling, and storytelling manifested into film production when she attended the Adventure Film School in 2015. From student to full time employee, she continued to apply herself at the Adventure Film School, working first as a content manager/producer, and then later attending the 2016 Banff Adventure Filmmakers Workshop on scholarship, where her film took first place in the student film contest. Since then, she has worked as a freelance executive producer and videographer with various organizations including the Ullman Cancer Foundation, The Sierra Club, and The Wilderness Society. Now based in Seattle, Carly continues her travels as a freelancer and photojournalist.

Parker Quinn - sound, river expert

Since graduating from the University of Georgia in 2013, Parker has sought adventure by any means possible from kayak guiding in Alaska to motorbiking solo throughout Southeast Asia and, most recently, biking solo from his hometown in Atlanta all the way to Panama. As a class IV whitewater rafting guide and Wilderness First Responder, Parker brings expert knowledge and competence to the expedition. Parker is described by his friends as a "real dirtbag" and "not afraid to eat off the ground." 

 

Kyle Nix - director of visuals, river expert 

Kyle Nix has represented the US Men’s Under 23 Whitewater Rafting team twice in the World Championships, once in the United Arab Emirates and once in Japan. Kyle is an experienced class V whitewater guide with over 2500 river miles and at only 23 years old, is among the youngest class V whitewater guides in the United States. Not only has Kyle established himself as a technical and talented expert on the river, he has studied graphic design at the University of Auburn and is a small business owner. Kyle brings his river expertise as well as his eye for artistic design to this documentary.

 

Asaf Zemah - Drone Operator, local fixer

Asaf Zemah is a world-traveler and passionate drone pilot. In addition to his technical skills, Asaf brings his innate gifts for empathy and communicating effectively with diverse groups of people to our film as a local coordinator and translator. Having grown up in Israel with a love for the outdoors, Asaf's knowledge of the terrain and communities through which we passed on our journey ensured the success of the expedition.
