The story of the Jordan River is one that spans a millennium.

Located in the heart of the Levant region of the Middle East, the Jordan River is a river of utmost historical, ecological, religious, and cultural importance. It has seen a 96% decrease in its water levels over the last 60 years as Israel, Syria, and Jordan take from the river without transnational cooperation. Without proper waste management, the river has become polluted, endangering critical bird migrations, communities around the river, and its legacy of cultural and religious sanctity.
